Ash Wednesday Service: Evening

Occurring during the part of the church year when we focus on the Story of Jesus, Lent is about his crucifixion. Beginning on Ash Wednesday and lasting for 40 days (not counting the six Sundays), it is a season of fasting and repentance in preparation for Easter. To begin the Lenten season as a community, we will observe the tradition of an Ashes Service on Ash Wednesday. Christians around the world hold these services, when ashes are placed on our foreheads as a symbol of our repentance and our devotion to knowing Jesus more deeply during this season. Join us for this short service in the sanctuary of Park Hill UMC. Park in the lot off of Glencoe St. and enter through the double doors.
