This June, a team of 12-13 educators and others who enjoy working with children will travel to Senegal on a short-term missions trip. Snacks and drinks will be provided. Childcare will not be provided.
If you have questions or want to know more, please email Karen Berry at Karen@denverpres.org.
- 2-3 Educators (in addition to the 3 educators returning from last year's trip)
- 7-8 Enrichment Volunteers
Educators – requires experience as a classroom teacher
Educators will provide collaborative professional development to the Senegalese educators with EPS, facilitating conversations about the educational contexts in which we each work. The American educators will lead discussions about the teacher-student relationship that is a strong value in the American education system.
Enrichment Volunteers – requires a love of kids and some experience working with kids
Enrichment Volunteers will work with children at different EPS schools while Senegalese teachers are in discussions with American teachers. You will lead various games, crafts, and other activities, creating a fun environment for the kids. There will be between 90 and 150 kids.

Faith+Life: Beauty In the Ordinary
January 23rd, 2018
Location: The Schiltz' Home (address will be sent in auto-reply email after you register)
Stuff matters! Many activities we consider ordinary or menial are actually deeply meaningful and significant, as long as we have eyes to see it. For instance, when we drink a cup of coffee, our experience includes more than just drinking it down: behind it are centuries of cultivation, the goodness of the flavor, the expression of human glory and imagination, and the hundreds of people who worked to bring it to your cup. These are all pieces of the significant creational activity that makes up an ordinary cup of coffee. Jason Farrar (a high-end coffee roaster) will use coffee as a lens to ask “Why does everything matter?” and to help us see the ordinary things of life in a whole new light.
Snacks and drinks provided.

Faith+Life: The Myth of Relationships
January 29th, 2018
Faith+Life: The Myth of Relationships (Women only)
Location: TBD (address will be sent in the auto-reply email after you register)
Our culture is obsessed with romance. Through movies, pop songs, novels, and our own stories, we are saturated in the belief that finding your “soul mate” is the ultimate source of human happiness. But is that true? Join us as we explore how these beliefs undermine true contentment for both married and single people alike and discover what the Bible says about where relationships fit into being an image bearer of God. Maureen Stabio and Laurel McGarry will lead this conversation, with a vision of freeing us to be fully flourishing, contented humans regardless of any relationship status or life circumstance.
Faith+Parenting: Technology and the Developing Mind
February 6th, 2018
Screens, messaging, social media… the benefits of increasing technologies come with costs. Some costs (data plans) are apparent; other costs are not. Join us as we consider the wisdom we need and practical steps we can take to help our children grow wise in a technologically savvy world. From strategies for screen time and filtering, to coaching our older children on how to be engaged without being controlled by our devices. Led by Pastor of Family Nurture, Jason Walch.
This conversation will be hosted at the Pollard Home in Stapleton (address information will be sent in a follow-up email when you register).
Youth Group Movie Night
February 9th, 2018
Join us for a movie night featuring the classic Raiders of the Lost Ark. We will have a great time watching a movie that is referenced by so many other movies you probably didn't realize it (Guardians of the Galaxy, Chicken Run, Captain America: The First Avenger, The Incredibles...). We will have popcorn - bring your favorite soda or movie beverage. 6:30-9:30 PM Friday February 9, at the AlamoWalchHouse.. errr... the Walch Residence. (Address will be sent in a confirmation email).
Senior High - Waffle House After Church
February 11th, 2018
Sunday, February 11, we will get into a couple of big cars and go to Waffle House. This cultural excursion will help us explore the culinary experience of weary road travelers and late night diners. Bring some cash and friends you think would like to share in this adventure. We will meet at church at noon, coordinate transportation, and have everyone home or back to their rides around 2:00 PM.
